They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but students often skip them just to get more hours of sleep before morning classes start. It’s quite understandable since prepping breakfast takes a lot of time, and grabbing one from fast food restaurants can be costly.
But students, listen up as Smokey Mo’s has a solution for your morning woes. They’re serving you a filling breakfast option to keep you energized the whole day, and most importantly, it’s not costly. Great, right?
Mark your calendars as this Friday (August 16, 2024), Smokey Mo’s TX BBQ is offering a limited-time $1 Breakfast in-store as a celebration for back-to-school.

Participating Smokey Mo’s stores will offer two-item tacos while guests can opt to add a brisket for an extra charge of 75 cents only until 10:30 AM. What’s even great is that four tacos are available per person, with each taco containing two of the following breakfast usuals:
- Egg
- Bacon
- Chorizo
- Sausage
- Potatoes
- Refried Beans
- Cheese
- Brisket
Craig Haley, President of Smokey Mo’s, said that they are excited to serve the community once again through the breakfast taco deal offer. In addition to the support they give to schools through fundraisers and donations, they get to help parents and families during a costly time of the year.
Gather your friends at Smokey Mo’s on Friday and have a filling meal to keep you up the entire day! Their breakfast menu is available at all Smokey Mo’s locations until 10:30 AM.

The Great BBQ Joint
From the name Smokey Mo’s itself, we get that they serve all things BBQ, and we’re definitely right about that! Founder Morris Melchor worked in the BBQ business for 30 years, when he fulfilled his dream of owning a BBQ restaurant with his wife, Lisa. Their first store is in Cedar Park, Texas, where they created a simple neighborhood BBQ spot. Now, Smokey Mo’s has grown into 19 BBQ stores throughout Central Texas.
Having worked years in the BBQ industry, Melchor developed his own recipes and methods, such as their smoked brisket made with Mo’s own propriety rub. It stays in the pit for 12 to 14 hours to get its ideal taste. This remains to be a guest favorite up to this day so never eat at Mo’s without trying this dish.

Now, what sets Smokey Mo’s apart from other BBQ places? Well, first, they smoke their meats in-house every day, then they use Post Oak wood, which is the traditional wood used by Texas BBQ joints. Post oak wood helps make the meats smokey yet mild at the same time. Now that you know a part of Smokey Mo’s secret, check out more of their must-try smoked meats:
- Turkey
- Chopped
- Pork Ribs
- Pork Loin
- Sausage
- Jalapeño Sausage
- Chicken Whole or Half
Not in the mood for huge feasts? Try their sandwiches and wraps, such as BBQ Sandwiches, Sloppy Mo Sandwich, and BBQ Wrap. Mo’s also serves both family and group packs for big orders and a full-service catering for a huge party of 75+ people.
Keeping It Local
Not only do Smokey Mo’s keep their food and restaurant vibe local, but they’re also taking this motto with them even in helping the community. The $1 Breakfast Tacos are evidence of Smokey Mo’s involvement in the community, as they are aware of the expenses families spend sending their children to school.
The community has long been part of their journey as they’ve made donations to local schools, churches, sports teams, and organizations like the Breast Cancer Research and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Also, to keep the Texas BBQ community alive, Smokey Mo’s has been the title sponsor of the Cedar Fest Cook-Off.
Guests can also serve the community by requesting a donation by filling out the donation form found on Smokey Mo’s official website or requesting a fundraising spirit night.

From The Club
That $1 Breakfast Taco Deal from Smokey Mo’s is a real lifesaver, especially for students on a tight budget. Imagine getting all of those along with a brisket with an extra charge of just 75 cents? It makes me appreciate fast-food joints offering these kinds of deals as they show that they understand their guests. I hope more restaurants give back-to-school specials to students and their families.
