Chicken sandwich fans are going to have a September to remember with the return of Birdcall’s menu item that everyone’s raving about.
Chicken sandwiches are everywhere but only very few restaurants can make one that leaves a lasting impact. One of those restaurants is Birdcall, which made news for a crispy chicken sandwich that received overwhelming support last year. It was gone for a while, but now it’s back to satisfy cravings with the same sweet heat.

Back by popular demand, Birdcall’s “Bees Knees” will be served again in all restaurant locations in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. This limited-time crispy chicken sandwich is available through September and will feature the equally iconic pure honey with chilies from Mike’s Hot Honey. Guests will once again enjoy the taste of Birdcall’s all-natural, crispy chicken, with the addition of Calabrian chili aioli and shredded romaine tucked inside brioche buns.
Birdcall’s Vice President for Culinary Innovation, Amador Acosta, said that there was a phenomenal response to the “Bees Knees” sandwich last year. The first time he tried Birdcall’s chicken with the hot honey, he realized they needed a special recipe for this combination. Then, the “Bees Knees” was brought into the world. Meanwhile, Mike Kurtz, founder of Mike’s Hot Honey expressed excitement for the collaboration with Birdcall happening for the second time. The two brands delivered an exceptional sandwich before and they’re going to do it again this September.
The “Bees Knees” is also part of “Birdcall Presents,” a monthly program featuring a limited-edition sandwich and supports non-profit organizations. This month, $1 from every “Bees Knees” sold will go to The Bee Conservancy, an organization that’s committed to bee protection. While enjoying the familiar taste of a fan-favorite, Birdcall’s guests will have a chance to positively impact local communities.
Similar to other sandwiches at Birdcall, the “Bees Knees” is freshly made and can be customized based on various dietary preferences.
What’s Special About Birdcall’s Sandwiches?
One chicken sandwich at a time, Birdcall shows just how much they care about their customers. With a tagline of “Do Good by Eating Well,” the brand inspires its guests to enjoy chicken sandwiches in their own unique way. Aside from creating award-winning recipes, Birdcall is dedicated to delivering a new kind of ordering and dining experiences.
The restaurant has built a propriety ordering system that allows customers to remove or add just about anything to their orders. For example, guests can swap out the crispy chicken for grilled chicken if they’re looking for a gluten-free option or choose the Eat Meati cutlet for a vegetarian sandwich. You can also spruce up your meal by ordering a sandwich with a lettuce wrap or sub gluten-free bun.

More Treats That Give Back
For years, restaurants have worked hard to show that their sense of purpose is not restricted to delivering good food and service. Brands like Birdcall remind us that giving back to the community is another way for chains to make a positive impact on others. The good news? It’s not only Birdcall that answered the call to participate in local initiatives. Here are other food brands offering treats that give back:

- Wendy’s $1 Boo! Books: In line with the Halloween season, Wendy’s is offering a coupon book containing five free frosty treats in Jr. size, plus one coupon to redeem a kiddie meal. Proceeds from coupon books sold will go to the Dave Thomas Foundation, an organization that helps foster children find new loving homes. The Boo! Books’s availability was announced alongside the release of Wendy’s new Frosty Frights kiddie meal collection.
- Golden Chick’s Churros for a Cause: Golden Chick is working on a charity initiative that will fund schools around the community, and they’re doing this along with the release of their new Churro. Two churros can be bought for $2. For every purchase, 50 cents will directly benefit local schools and teachers.

Birdcall really has an impressive lineup of award-winning sandwiches. Now that “Bees Knees” is back, there’s going to be a lot of hype again about the restaurant. I never got to try the “Bees Knees” before, but it will be on my list of must-try menu items this September. Birdcall also deserves respect for helping local communities. It’s always nice to visit such a restaurant that doubles a joyful experience.
