Looks like Taco Bell is back at it again with another creative twist on a classic item!

It seems like every month, we’re getting word of Taco Bell releasing something new or trying out something different. It all began during their Live Más Live event back in February, where they announced all the big things coming to their menu. We’ve seen them drop new chalupas, new take home meal kits, and even a ton of new Baja Blast flavored food. But one thing that really took the internet by storm was their Big Cheez-it Crunchwrap. It was whole new spin on their classic Crunchwarp that’s made better by adding a giant Cheez-it inside of it. And it looks like Taco Bell isn’t done with tinkering with the Crunchwrap because we just got word that they’re testing out another Crunchwrap item in select locations.

Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders

Taco Bell is currently testing a new version of their Crunchwrap Supreme in select markets in Ohio. They took the Crunchwrap Supreme and shrunk it down into a smaller, bite-sized version of it called the Crunchwrap Sliders. Taco Bell customers in Cleveland and Akron have the exclusive chance to try these new Crunchwrap Sliders which are made with ground beef, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and a crunchy mini tostada. This new item also comes with Taco Bell’s signature cheese sauce for dipping. But it doesn’t end there. They’re also testing a Steak & Queso version which includes grilled steak, creamy chipotle sauce, pico de gallo, plus Cheddar cheese, and is served with warm Green Chile Queso sauce.

This isn’t necessarily a new item since we did see Taco Bell release Crunchwrap Sliders back in 2014. But unlike that previous release, this new version costs $4.99 and includes two sliders plus the new flavors. This is some pretty exciting news especially if you’re a Taco Bell fan like me. The new sliders are only being tested at 30 Taco Bell locations in Cleveland and Akron. If you’re from the area, you can check the Taco Bell app to see if they have the items on their menu and that they are participating in the trial.

Previous Crunchwrap Sliders

Unless you’re from Ohio or are willing to travel, we might have to wait a little longer and see if it gets a nationwide release. The good news is, the new Crunchwrap Sliders are pretty well-received. Most customers gave solid feedback and positive reviews. We’ll be covering this item more as soon as we get more word. So until then, stay tuned for more updates.

What’s New at Taco Bell?

Like I’ve mentioned above, there’s a lot of new stuff coming out from Taco Bell. They’ve got a boatload of deals, new menu items, and they even have a few other items being tested at other locations. We can’t possibly cover them all in one article so here are two of the most exciting new releases from Taco Bell.

Baja Blast Twists, Pie, and Gelato

Mountain Dew Baja Blast is one of the most iconic soda flavors of all time. It’s a Taco Bell exclusive which is a big reason why it gained a massive cult following. It has a tropical lime flavor profile that really pairs well with Taco Bell’s menu. If it pairs that well, why not just create Baja Blast flavored items, right? Well, that’s exactly what Taco Bell did. Introducing the Baja Blast Twists, Pie, and Gelato. At this rate, I won’t be surprised if Taco Bell somehow makes a Baja Blast Taco or Burrito.

Here’s another secret menu item being tested at an exclusive location. Taco Bell is testing out Cheesy Dipping Burritos at select locations in Detroit, Michigan. This new menu item includes two burritos filled with seasoned beef and rice, paired with warm nacho cheese sauce for dipping. It’s a simple twist on their classic burritos but can prove to be a game changer once it gets a wide release.

This is why Taco Bell is one of the best fast food chains of all time. They’re constantly pushing the boundaries on what kind of food they can come up with. They’re not afraid of taking risks and almost every time, it always pays off. The new Crunchwrap Sliders definitely sound like a good idea. The addition of a dipping sauce to go along with it is a nice touch. I hope the trials go well and Taco Bell decides to roll this out nationwide.
