McDonald’s proves their brand power once again as they team up with one of the world’s top video games, Genshin Impact.
We’ve always known McDonald’s as a brand powerhouse when it comes to exciting collaborations. From unique menu items, toys, and merchandise to limited-time offers to fans, they know exactly how to excite customers, and their partnerships land on top of news headlines, creates online buzz, and offers fun and unique experiences to fans. Plus, these fun experiences is paired with McDonald’s satisfying meals with a touch of pop culture. This time around, McDonald’s is showing their brand power by going into the world of video games and teaming up with Genshin Impact.
Starting Tuesday, September 17, 2024, McDonald’s exciting collaboration with fan favorite video game, Genshin Impact comes to life with a special meal and unique game rewards. This partnership introduces a special Genshin Impact-themed box packaging for McDonald’s Apple Pies, which comes with in-game rewards when you make a purchase.
This limited-edition packaging for McDonald’s Apple Pie features two popular characters from the game, Kaedehara Kazuha, and Beidou. When customers purchase the Genshin Impact Apple Pie through the McDonald’s mobile app, they will receive helpful in-game items that enhance each player’s abilities within the game. These Genshin Impact game items includes the following:
- Custom Recipe + Golden Apple Pastry (3 pieces)
- 40 Primogems
- 2 Hero’s Wit
- 20,000 Mora
- 4 Mystic Enhancement Ore
Additionally, when you choose the Genshin Impact Deluxe McCrispy Meal, you can get a Deluxe McCrispy sandwich, fries, the limited-edition Apple Pie, plus a drink. Similar to the Genshin Impact Apple Pie, when you purchase this meal through the McDonald’s app, it also unlocks exclusive in-game rewards which adds flairs to each player’s adventures in Genshin Impact. These game rewards includes the following:
- “Wings of Delicacies” Wind Glider
- “Celebration: Crispy and Sweet” Namecard
Interested customers can get both the Genshin Impact Apple Pie and the Genshin Impact Deluxe McCrispy Meal starting Tuesday, September 17 until Sunday, September 29, 2024, exclusively through placing an order in the McDonald’s app.

McDonald’s is no stranger to brand collaborations; their previous team-ups are so iconic that fans have always looked forward to the next brand they will be collaborating with. Whether their partnership comes in the form of Happy Meals or a dedicated collaboration meal, it still lands on news headlines and is well-received by fans.
McDonald’s & Crocs Happy Meal
Now, let’s look into another collaboration that have kept McDonald’s busy this past month. Other than collaborating with Genshin Impact, the Golden Arches is also teaming up with Crocs for a limited-edition Happy Meal collaboration.
McDonald’s has teamed up with Crocs, a footwear brand to bring playful Crocs-themed accessories to Happy Meals. A unique but exciting partnership, the McDonald’s x Crocs first came out in other countries outside of America, but this collaboration is now heading its way to USA. Customers of all ages can expect fun collectible items that combines the iconic style of Crocs with Mickey D’s fan favorite Happy Meal experience.
The Crocs Happy Meal includes your chosen meal with one of the 17 limited-edition Crocs Clog Keychains, that takes inspiration from the designs of the popular footwear brand. Also, each collectible keychains also comes with a mini shoe box and a sticker pad so you can personalize your new mini Crocs footwear.
Customers can scan a QR code printed on the box which takes them to an online webpage where they can design a pair of digital Crocs. Design elements are also available for use, like patterns, color combinations, and, of course, cute decorations.
Alongside the release of McDonald’s x Genshin Impact meals, the Crocs Happy Meal boxes will also be available on Tuesday, September 17 in all McDonald’s USA locations, and in over 40 markets worldwide, for a limited time.
McDonald’s & Crocs Exclusive Footwear
Aside from the newest Crocs Happy Meal, McDonald’s has also collaborated with the footwear company last 2023 to launch their exclusive shoe collection. Their first collaboration ventured into style and the collaboration brought life to a full lineup of shoes, socks and Jibbitz that carried the charms of both McDonald’s and Crocs.
The collection, inspired by McDonald’s iconic characters – Grimace, Birdie, and Hamburglar, were offered to all Crocs locations around the globe, with a price range of $70 – $75 a pair of Crocs with Jibbitz and a pair of socks for $20 each. It’s about time McDonald’s dives into the video game arena; after all, I’m pretty sure we all dialed in a McDonald’s delivery when we played our favorite video game. This collaboration just seems very natural, like it just fits perfectly. A major fast food brand and a top video game, it doesn’t get any better than that. Plus, the in-game benefits that come along with the McDonald’s meals were the cherry on top. If I’m one of the hardcore Genshin Impact players, I’ll immediately order a meal after knowing I’d get additional game perks by ordering Mickey D’s!
