Needless to say, drive-thrus have been one of the most important innovations in fast food history. Fast forward to today, and nearly every fast food chain now has a drive thru as well as some other businesses like banks and even drug stores. But as more and more people are preferring drive-thrus over dining in during busy days, normal drive-thrus have become a little time consuming as well. Which is why Chick-fil-A’s latest drive-thru concept just might be the answer to this problem.
Chick-fil-A is making some pretty big changes to their drive-thru services. They always prioritized amazing service, and this new change will help them live up to that commitment. Some customers will agree that Chick-fil-A’s drive-thru can be a little slow at times. So to speed things up, they’re trying out a revolutionary new concept. The chain just unveiled its first ever Elevated Drive-Thru in McDonough Georgia. And it’s looking like a welcome new change that puts the fast back in fast food.
This innovative design places the kitchen directly above the drive-thru area. Once the orders are ready, they’re sent down on a conveyor belt to staff who then hands the meals to their customers. This new Chick-fil-A location has now dine-in option, so this set up is specifically designed to reduce wait times during busy hours. The new location has a double-sized kitchen and a massive drive-thru that’s four lanes wide. Customers can place their order through the staff or by using the mobile ordering option, which has its own dedicated lane.
Currently, this new elevated drive-thru is only available at one location. But if this concept proves to be successful, we could be seeing more of these in the future. In addition to this, Chick-fil-A is planning on enhancing their mobile ordering options. Plus, in other news, they’re also bringing back fan favorites like the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich and the Banana Pudding Milkshake on August 26, 2024.

The Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich is one of the best things to be included in Chick-fil-A’s summer menu. This delicious sandwich is a big reason why lots of people will point out that Chick-fil-A is the best when it comes to anything chicken-related in fast food. This sandwich is made with a lemon-herb marinated grilled chicken filet, maple-flavored brioche bun, green leaf lettuce, pepper Jack cheese, candied pepper bacon, and spicy bread and butter pickles. If you want to try something a little sweet with a little kick of heat while being super savory, you should try this new limited time sandwich before it’s taken off the menu.
Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich
Now here’s something that’s been highly anticipated ever since it was first announced. The Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich is a returning fan-favorite item that’s finally gracing the Chick-fil-A menu again after year of being absent. This classic sandwich features the signature Chick-fil-A chicken filet drizzled with honey, topped with pimento cheese, and served on a warm, toasted bun with mild pickled jalapeños. Not spicy enough for you? Don’t worry, you can try the Spicy Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich which is a spicier variation of the same sandwich. Both of these are expected to be available on August 26, 2024.

Honestly, I think this idea is genius and I believe this could be a common trend for most fast food chains moving forward.
