The Origins of IHOP and a Video Game Icon
Founded in 1958, the International House of Pancakes, commonly known as IHOP, started as a single restaurant in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles. It quickly became known for its wide variety of pancakes and other breakfast items. Over the years, IHOP expanded, becoming a comfort food staple across the United States.
SEGA, on the other hand, began as a Japanese company in 1960, initially involved in manufacturing jukeboxes and slot machines. It wasn’t until the 1980s that SEGA entered the video game industry and introduced the world to Sonic the Hedgehog in 1991. Sonic quickly raced to stardom, becoming SEGA’s most famous character and a beloved gaming icon.
The recent collaboration between IHOP and SEGA combines the world of delicious breakfasts with the excitement of Sonic the Hedgehog, offering fans of both brands a unique dining adventure.
