Get ready for a bold new twist on a classic menu item at Baja Fresh!
For the longest time, Baja Fresh has been putting out great menu items and amazing new releases. They’ve been around since the 90s and has since become one of the best places to enjoy fast food Mexican cuisine. Over the years, they managed to really capture the signature Baja California flavors and infuse it into their creations. In fact, their latest creation might be their new masterpiece. It’s a new take on a classic menu item.
Baja Fresh Mexican Grill is introducing a fresh new twist on their classic California Burrito with the launch of a new menu item: the Golden State Burritos. Baja Fresh’s California Burrito is already pretty great on its own but this new item promises to make it even better. From the looks of it, it’s safe to say that Baja Fresh definitely succeeded. Just like the California Burrito, you can select either steak or chicken as your protein of choice. Let’s take a closer look at each of them:
- Steak – The Steak option features fire-grilled steak cooked with Baja papas, diced peppers, topped with queso, melted jack and cheddar cheese, sour cream, jalapeños, and guacamole. Take all of that together and wrap it in a warm flour tortilla and you got a Golden State Burrito. Or should we say, Golden Steak Burrito?
- Chicken – If you want something a little lighter but packed with just as much protein, go for the Chicken option. The chicken version features fire-grilled chicken with Baja rice, jack and cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli, pico de gallo, and guacamole, all wrapped up in a warm flour tortilla.
The new Golden State Burritos sound like an amazing new item. The best part is that it is now available at all participating Baja Fresh Mexican Grill locations. It’s only there for a limited-time so you better hurry and make sure you try it.

Best Menu Items at Baja Fresh
The new Golden State Burrito is looking pretty good. In fact, given enough time, I think it might be the best menu item on Baja Fresh’s menu. But of course, only time will tell. Until then, these are the best of the best items on their menu. If you’re unsure of what to have at Baja Fresh, you can’t go wrong with these.
Nacho Burrito
Baja Fresh’s Nachos are already great on their own. But what if you took their nachos and stuffed them in a burrito? That would be a masterpiece. The good thing is we don’t have to imagine it because they offer it up right on their menu. The Nacho Burrito contains rice, cheese, your choice of black, pinto, or mixed beans, jalapeños, sour cream, 6 Chiles Salsa, and crispy tortilla strips. They’re all snuggled together by a warm flour tortilla. Now, you can enjoy their famous nachos without having to finish an entire plate on your own.
Crispy Wahoo Taco
We don’t get too many fish-based taco. And when we do, they’re usually some sort of limited time offering unless they’re a chain that primarily sells seafood. But that’s not the case with the Crispy Wahoo Taco. It’s a permanent part of Baja Fresh’s menu and is one of their best as well. It contains a filet of crispy fried Wahoo, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, and a tangy salsa.

It’s been a while since we got something new from Baja Fresh. The last time they added something on their menu was way back in April. But good things usually take time so it’s no surprise that the new Golden State Burritos are pretty great. This is a great addition to their menu and really switches up your typical burrito experience. Give it a try while you can.
