Are you ready for Starbucks’ 2024 Holiday releases? Well, the exciting drop starts with a festive Christmas cup!
Sure, Starbucks is one of the household names when we talk about holiday menu releases from fast food restaurants and cafés. Every season, Starbucks releases their drinks and pastries from the flavors that are close to the season. What’s even more exciting is the merchandise of tumblers and mugs with designs that go along with it.
As expected, Starbucks is gearing up once again this holiday season, and they’re starting with the drop of their festive cups that will hold your beverages. Over the weekend, Starbucks unveiled the cups that would come along with the speculated release of their limited-time holiday beverages on November 7, 2024.
A short clip was posted on Starbucks’ Instagram and TikTok page, showing the designers unveiling four designs of Christmas cups. The clip gave fans a behind-the-scenes preview of the designers creating the designs, which includes bold graphics with the colors of red, green, and pink that blend with the holiday colors.
In the opening clip, four graphic designers held the cup designed by them as they introduced themselves as the team behind the holiday cups. The clip then went on the display process with an explanation of the inspiration behind their designs. By the end of the clip, the designers went on about how they were excited to share the designs with fans. Expect the holiday cups to drop by November 7, 2024, to see what the magic is all about.

Introducing This Year’s Cup Designs
So, what are these designs that everyone is raving about? Starbucks revealed that this year’s theme will be Merrier Together, which will thread throughout the holiday campaign.
The theme is visible with the graphic elements included on the cups that resembled old ornaments and peppermints. There is a wavy motif inspired by Starbucks’ siren logo, such as a scalloped edge that can be found on the sleeve. There are also small badges placed at the back of the cup for baristas to write a simple Christmas message for customers.
The Creative Director of Starbucks, Kristy Cameron, said that they wanted to share the joy and coffee to inspire their creative team. It would share the coffeehouse warmth as well as the excitement of the red cups that are arriving with their customers and partners. With that, let’s check out the designs we’re about to get, as well as what inspired the creatives to create the designs.
Warm Wishes
In this specific design, the designers thought of coffee cups coming together while they’re viewed from above. This is when people would say “cheers” in unison but with coffee. As you can see from the design, the interconnected dots represent glowing holiday lights while a crowd is enjoying their hot cup of coffee.

Joyful Connection
If you’re one of the lucky fans who got to see Starbucks’ coffee roasting at a Starbucks Reserve Roastery, then this design might be familiar to you. The most exciting moment of roasting a coffee is when they are released on a round metal cooling tray while a mechanical arm whirls around to cool the roasted beans. That was the inspiration behind the Joyful Connection cup. The circular shapes that you can see from the design combine to form a pattern that honors coffee roasting and the joy of being together.

Lyrical Landscape
This colorful design features vibrant lines that weave together. It represents holiday gift ribbons and green rolling hills where the coffee is grown. The design is alternated bands of red, green, and pink that create the blending of colors like a perfectly wrapped gift. Think of giving a Starbucks coffee to someone with this cup, which is equivalent to giving gifts on Christmas day.

Siren Chorus
Another coffee-making process becomes clear in this cup design. It features striped holiday charms that come together in a chorus of colors; thus, the name Siren Chorus. For a Christmas blend, it took the striped holiday charms of the colors red, green, and white. They were made to resemble the wavy and flowing lines of Starbucks’ siren.

While the hot cups of beverages come in these unique holiday designs that showcase the coffee-making process, the cold cups get a touch of holiday designs, too. They come in the same clear cup, but they’re adorned with waves and lines beside the siren logo that resembles a Christmas tree carol.

From The Club
I’ve been so focused on Starbucks’ holiday/winter menu items that I forgot about the holiday cups that go along with it. In the past, I was used to seeing these holiday cups where the coffee chain switches up their usual white cup into the festive red cup. This year, they changed their festive cups by adding more Christmas colors, which made them more exciting. I’m looking forward to sipping my Chestnut Praline Latte with Sugar Cookie Cream cold foam in these festive cups.
