Make sure to include SONIC in your Friday plans as June 20 is the first official summer day. With this, they’re launching Live Free Fridays, which is a weekly celebration of in-app offers made for craveworthy Fridays, because we all need a celebration to survive the week.
Running from the Fridays of June 20 to August 29, fans can open their SONIC app and score a freebie, which will automatically load and be ready to redeem with any qualifying purchase. No codes are needed to take advantage of the promo; just make sure you follow the instructions.

How to Spend Your Summer at SONIC
Now that Live Free Fridays is on the way, SONIC also has some releases worth noting. Just two days ago, the chain announced their new Grillo’s Pickles Big Dill Meal in collaboration with Grillo’s. The meal will be available by June 30, 2025, and will feature three new limited-time menu items, which are:
- SONIC x Grillo’s Pickles Big Dill Double & Triple SONIC Smasher – It features a hand-smashed Angus beef patty with two slices of melty American cheese. The pickle magic comes in the dill-pickled seasoned cucumbers, Grillo’s Pickle Chips, and dilly ranch. There’s also some fresh lettuce, all sandwiched on a potato bun. The price of the Big Dill Double Smasher starts at $7.49, while the Triple Smasher is at $8.49.
- SONIC x Grillo’s Pickles Seasoned Tots or Groovy Fries – These appetizers feature your choice of Tots or Groovy Fries that are sprinkled with Grillo’s Pickle seasoning. These appetizers have a suggested price of $2.99 for a medium.
- SONIC x Grillo’s Pickles Picklerita Slush – SONIC is releasing a unique drink to top the pickle meal off. This slush features a blend of pickle juice, tart lime, and Pickle Juice Flavor Bubble. It is also topped with a Grillo’s Pickle Chip with a price that starts at $3.99 for 20 oz.
As a release special, fans who get to purchase the full Big Meal Dill will get a free pickle-scented car air freshener with Grillo’s mascot, “Sam-Sam the Pickle Man,” while supplies last. There will also be a special merch collection like hats, tees, and a nugget ice maker that will also be launching on the 30th at LiveFreeShopSonic.com. The great thing about this is that all proceeds from the merch sales will go to the SONIC Foundation, which supports public education.
Last month, SONIC also released the Sweet Topped Lemonades in collaboration with bestselling authors Christina Lauren, Abby Jimenez, and Ashley Poston. The Sweet Topped Lemonades come in the following three options:
- Sweet Topped Lemonade – It features a tart, all-natural lemonade that is topped with a velvety sweet foam.
- Sweet Topped Strawberry Lemonade – Like the Sweet Topped option, this drink has an all-natural lemonade base that is mixed with strawberries and topped with a sweet foam.
- Sweet Topped Blueberry Lavender Lemonade – A tart, all-natural lemonade that is blended with blueberry lavender flavor and topped with a cold foam.
To top SONIC’s summer releases, they also dropped new menu items that surf out the summer vibes. First is the comeback of their Watermelon and Lemonberry Slush with the new Cheesy Garlic Pepperoni Bites.
For the fruity slush, it was last seen back in 2019 and 2020. The Watermelon Slush features a juicy and sweet watermelon fruit blended with the classic SONIC Slush. It has a starting price of $2.79 for a medium. On the other hand, the Lemonberry Slush features the classic SONIC Slush that is swirled with real strawberries and squeezed with real lemon. The starting price for the fruity slush is $3.29 for a medium cup.
Now, the perfect summer snack pair for the fruity Slush will be the Cheesy Garlic Pepperoni Bites, which is a snack combination of melty mozzarella and provolone cheeses with pepperoni. The pepperoni filling is smothered in zesty pizza sauce and wrapped in a crispy, golden brown shell. They’re available to get in three, five, or seven pieces with a starting price of $2.99.
Save Room for Dessert
Wouldn’t you like a sweet finish to that filling meal? If you’re craving something sweet, head over to Shake Shack, which just brought back their Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake — and now they’re available nationwide! If you’re unfamiliar with the Shack’s new menu item, it was originally created for the brand’s Middle Eastern locations. However, the brand saw sold-out lines at their locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami during a stateside trial. This shake features a pistachio frozen custard spun with kataifi in a dark chocolate shell. The treat is also topped with chopped pistachios and even more kataifi.
Do you prefer frozen yogurt? Well, Yogurtland is inviting fans to avail of the one-day only Buy One, Get One Free offering of regular froyo cups that will be available nationwide and in-store this Wednesday (June 25, 2025). The best thing about it? There’s no code or app needed. Catch the seasonal flavors like their Guava Passion Tart, Spicy Strawberry Watermelon Sorbet, and Milk & Honey, which are available to keep the summer vibes going.
