Interesting Pumpkin Bread Facts

Pumpkin bread may make diners think of autumn, but many enjoy it all year. In fact, Starbucks Pumpkin Bread was so popular that it became a year-round item! Pumpkin bread falls under the quick bread category, which defines bread recipes that don’t use yeast. Quick breads are a great option for those who crave hearty bread but don’t want to wait hours for a loaf to rise.

Pumpkin bread became popular in the 19th century when baking powder became a widely used ingredient. Quick breads take on many forms, like cherry and chocolate chip, but pumpkin bread is among the most popular, most likely due to its comforting combination of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. There are tons of variations that include nuts, chocolate chips, and even raisins, but Starbucks’ recipe is beloved due to its simplicity. Be sure to bookmark our Copycat Starbucks Pumpkin Bread for the holiday season; it makes a great, frugal gift!
