Ready for a comeback? McDonald’s is set to have an exciting 2024 and beyond.
2024 is definitely an amazing year in fast food. There are tons of new releases coming out from all our favorite fast food chains. Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and KFC all have had pretty great releases so far. We’ve seen them introduce new items as well as bring back some of their fan favorites. And then, there’s McDonald’s. We all know that the Golden Arches always brings it when it comes to dropping new and returning items. In fact, they’ve already set their eyes on 2025 despite still having a few more months in 2024. Which brings us to their latest announcement.

McDonald’s is gearing up to enhance their menu with many new items in the coming months. There’s lots of new highly anticipated additions to McDonald’s menu coming soon. It’s a mix of familiar faces and brand-new items. Let’s take a look at each of them, starting with the returning menu items.
Snack Wraps
McDonald’s Snack Wraps were one of the best things they ever released on their menu. Back in 2016, they were released and consisted of chicken, lettuce, shredded cheese and sauce wrapped in a warm tortilla. It was pretty well-received. But unfortunately, it was taken off the menu for several different factors. For one thing, they took pretty long to make defeating the concept of fast food. But that doesn’t mean that they weren’t pretty amazing. These Snack Wraps tasted really good and easily became a fan favorite. It was discontinued shortly after, leaving its future unclear. Until today.

Last December, McDonald’s officially announced that the Snack Wraps would make a return to their menu. But the official date wasn’t announced. Now, we’re getting a clearer picture that the Snack Wraps are expected to make a return in 2025.
Chicken Big Mac
We all now that the Big Mac is a McDonald’s classic. After all, this is the fast food giant’s biggest claim to fame and their flagship menu item. But have you heard a version of the Big Mac but made with chicken? That’s right! While McDonald’s has their own fair share of delicious chicken sandwiches like the McChicken and the McCrispy, they don’t have a chicken sandwich that lives up to the same scale of the Big Mac. Which is why, they’re bringing back the Chicken Big Mac.

Originally, you could only get a Chicken Big Mac in countries with certain dietary restrictions like in India. But now, you can finally get a Chicken Big Mac in the United States! There have been reports of some locations already getting access to this new sandwich, but McDonald’s has yet to make an official release announcement. Still, the Chicken Big Mac is expected to be released nationwide near the end of 2024 or early 2025 at the latest.
Boo Buckets
It’s only a few weeks till Halloween, but we’re already seeing Halloween-themed products and items coming out. While we’re still waiting to see if McDonald’s will release a limited-time food for the spookiest day of the year, they’re already releasing a massive fan favorite. The Boo Buckets are a line of plastic buckets from McDonald’s that feature a spooky design. They made a comeback in 2022 and we’re getting a new version of them right around this time every year.

In 2024, the new Boo Buckets, which are currently out in a different country, feature a cute monster-looking design. The handles feature the iconic arches of McDonald’s and come in very vibrant colors. Perfect for collecting Halloween candy this October.

The Big Arch
Moving on to their new items, McDonald’s also recently unveiled plans for a new burger. This burger isn’t just any ordinary burger. This burger is sort of billed as the future of the Big Mac. McDonald’s announce that they’re releasing a new sandwich called the Big Arch, which features two beef patties, melting cheese, crispy toppings, and a tangy new sauce. The best way to describe it is that it’s a classic McDonald’s signature burger but with a modern twist.

Like the Snack Wraps, the Big Arch was also revealed back in late 2023. Now, it’s currently out for testing in undisclosed McDonald’s locations around the world. Will it ever be better than the Big Mac? The Big Mac is a proven classic, with many people having it as their favorite burger. I guess, only time will tell whether the Big Arch can live up to the Big Mac. Good thing we won’t have to wait that long because this new burger is expected to make it on McDonald’s menu before 2024 ends.
Mini McFlurry
Last, but not the least, we got the new Mini McFlurry. Have you ever had those moments when you want to have dessert but don’t have room for much? Then this is perfect for you. It sounds incredibly tailored for a specific audience, but we’re still glad that it’s here. The Mini McFlurry, just like the name implies, is literally just a smaller version of the classic McDonald’s dessert. This time though, it comes in a new environmentally friendly packaging in four-flap cups.

The new Mini McFlurry is coming out on September 10, 2024, and will be available in the classic Oreo or M&M flavor.
McDonald’s really is out here making waves despite being the top dog in all of fast food. It goes to show that to stay on top, you have to still innovate and come up with great menu items. These new and returning releases are definitely ones to watch out for in the coming months. Once they’re all released, you can be sure that you can come back here for updates on all the latest fast food news.

From The Club
I can’t believe we’re getting a ton of new stuff from McDonald’s! It may feel like McDonald’s menu is getting a little old, but that’s really just not true. They’re always striving to put out new menu items that will have us coming back for more. Looks like we’re getting so much more to look forward to in the coming months! Out of all of these though, I can’t wait to try the Big Arch. I’m really curious to see how something can just top the Big Mac. I mean, I think it probably won’t match up to the kind of impact it has but the Big Arch might actually taste better.
