While it’s true that America revolutionized fast food, there are wild creations out there that make American fast food pretty tame. Around the world, fast food chains are serving up strange but epic dishes, and we’re seriously missing out! Here are 15 jaw-dropping fast food items you won’t find anywhere in the US.
15. Fizzy Pop Chicken – Popeyes Singapore

Popeyes had this limited-time fast food item that featured their signature chicken with a sweet-spicy sauce. But the real star here was the “fizzy seasoning” that’s similar to Pop Rocks. The exploding sensation while eating the chicken made for a truly unique fast food experience!
14. Salted Egg Chicken – KFC Indonesia

Here’s another chicken entry, this time from KFC Indonesia and with a salted egg sauce. If you’re unfamiliar, salted egg has a savory, buttery flavor, and that umami taste of Asia. Salted egg is familiar to the Indonesian tongue, so it’s no surprise that this item became available in the country.
13. Garlic Meat Beast – Burger King Japan

Burger King Japan birthed to one of the craziest burgers of all time. The Garlic Meat Beast is a variation of Whopper, featuring every form of meat: pork patty, beef patty, and chicken patty. The burger is also layered with tomatoes, lettuce, and fried garlic for that extra flavor and crunch!
12. Bacon Potato Pie – McDonald’s Japan

We’re honestly surprised (and kind of disappointed) that this fast food item hasn’t reached US yet. Imagine the flaky crust of apple pie, but inside you’ll find a combination of creamy potato filling, bacon bits, and caramelized onions. This one definitely screams comfort food!
11. McCurrywurst – McDonald’s Germany

Germans love their sausages, so it’s not much of a surprise to find a sausage-based dish on the McDonald’s Germany menu. The McCurrywurst features steamed and grilled sausage with a spicy tomato sauce, served with a pack of either mild or sharp curry powder for extra flavor boost.
10. Jalapeño Bulgogi Hotdog – Dunkin’ Donuts Korea

Dunkin’ Korea knows how to spice up a regular hotdog with local flavors. In this unique fast food item, bulgogi or marinated beef slices with BBQ sauce meet hotdog in a bun. But that’s not all, because the heat is turned up with the addition of jalapeños and melted cheese.
9. Birizza – Pizza Hut India

As the name suggests, Pizza Hut India created a hybrid pizza by combining, well, pizza and biryani. It might look like it’s all over the place, but the combination of curry-spiced rice and a choice of chicken or paneer works on a crust. The fun part is you can dip the Birizza into a spicy gravy!
8. Sisig Rice Bowl – KFC Philippines

Sisig is a Filipino street food that found its way into the rice bowl of KFC Philippines. To recreate the taste and texture of authentic sisig, the fast food chain made a bowl loaded with hot shots drizzled with sisig sauce, fried chicken skin, steamed rice, and then topped with a side of egg and mayo.
7. Pickle Pizza – Domino’s Japan

We love pickles but tons of pickles on a pizza? That’s a bit crazy but also something we’d love to try! In Domino’s Japan, such a pizza exists, topped with freshly cut pickles. Expect a mix of tangy, zesty, and cheesy flavors that pairs well with the chain’s signature hand-tossed crust.
6. McArabia – McDonald’s Middle East

By looking at the name alone, you’d know that this is a menu item from McDonald’s Middle East. It’s made with grilled beef, patties, or lamb meatballs (kofta), lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and garlic sauce, all loaded into a pita. Every bite will surely give you a taste of Middle East!
5. Kimchi Quesadilla – Taco Bell Korea

Here’s a perfect mix of Tex-Mex and Korean cuisine. Kimchi Quesadilla is a match made in heaven, combining Taco Bell’s signature cheese melt from quesadillas and the spicy kick of fermented cabbages. The fast food chain also has other Korean-inspired menu items, including kimchi fries and kimchi burrito.
4. Dry Pork and Seaweed Donut – Dunkin’ Donuts China

While we love the classic glazed donut, we also can’t say no to a sweet-savory combination of flavors. In Dunkin’ Donuts China, they took the glazed donut to the next level by adding seaweed and dried pork floss. This appeals to the Chinese consumers’ preference for salty and sweet flavors—another reason why the country also has munchkins in pizza flavor!
3. McChocoNuts – McDonald’s France

The brand’s first sweet burger has been spotted in France, made with brioche bun with a melty choco-nut-flavored puck, peanut butter topping, and peanut chips (there’s also a version with M&Ms). The sweet burger is made to order and served hot, and honestly, the name and all those little details make us want to fly out and order it!
2. Cheeseburger Crown Crust Pizza – Pizza Hut Dubai

You’re now looking at burger and pizza co-existing in one dish in perfect harmony. Pizza Hut Dubai has done what seems impossible: a special crust with miniature beef patties covered in cheese. To put it simply, the crust is lined with tiny cheeseburgers, topped with even more beef, veggies, and a “special sauce.”
1. Best 34 Pizza – Domino’s Japan

We don’t get it why Domino’s isn’t as experimental here as they are in Japan. The Best 34 Pizza can only be seen in Japan, offering 34 toppings, hence the name. Despite having tons of toppings, the brand claims that they’re all “balanced to perfection.” And just in case you want to know, no, you’re not allowed to add more toppings to this pie.
